The conviction and eight-year sentence imposed on the former Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina for laundering about N2.1billion has been upheld by a Court of Appeal in Abuja.

The judgement was given on Friday, May 5, by a three-member panel of the court. Justice Elfreda Williams-Daudu who read the lead judgement, upheld the November 8, 2021 judgment given by Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abija, convicting and sentencing Maina.

The judges also held that Maina was not denied fair hearing by the trial court and that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.
