    APC Dissolves Caretaker Committees in Zamfara

    The All Progressive Congress (APC) Interim Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) dissolved party leaders in Zamfara.

    CECPC National Secretary Senator John Akpanuodedehe announced the dissolution in a letter dated July 9, 2021 to the disbanded interim president Alhaji Lawal Liman.

    The letter, a copy of which was made available to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN) on Sunday in Gusau, indicates that the dissolution is with immediate effect.

    “I am writing to inform you that following recent developments within the party in the state, the Planning Committee of the Extraordinary Agreement of APC Interim Workers (CECPC) has approved the dissolution of all governing bodies. party in the state (neighborhood, local government and state cadres).

    “This development is with immediate effect,” reads part of the letter.

    He further said that an interim three-person committee has been formed to manage party affairs in the state.

    The new interim committee formed has Senator Hassan Mohammed as chairman with former deputy governor Alhaji Muntari Anka as deputy chairman while Professor Abdullahi Shinkafi, former secretary of the state government as a member /secretary.

    The CECPC expressed its gratitude to the disbanded leaders and urged them to provide the necessary support to the new party leadership in the state.

    The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that the change in leadership followed Governor Bello Matawalle’s defection from the PDP to the APC.

    Matawalle was received into the APC on June 29 by his counterpart from Yobe and president of the CECPC, Mai Mala-Buni.
