The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has praised the Federal Government’s continued support for families of military and police personnel who died in the line of duty.
Aneke spoke on Thursday at the second edition of the Renewed Hope Initiative’s financial assistance programme for widows of fallen heroes at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The event, hosted by the Office of the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, brought together senior military and security officials as well as other dignitaries.
The Nigerian Air Force, in a statement released on Thursday, said the initiative was organised under the RHI Social Investment Programme to provide financial assistance to families of personnel who paid the ultimate price while serving the country.
Aneke described the intervention as an important demonstration of the nation’s appreciation for the sacrifices made by fallen security personnel.
He said continued assistance to their families also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the welfare and wellbeing of those left behind.
The Chief of the Air Staff joined other senior military and security officials at the ceremony, which focused on supporting widows whose spouses died in service to Nigeria.
The Renewed Hope Initiative’s intervention is aimed at providing financial relief to affected families while recognising the sacrifices made by members of the nation’s Armed Forces and security agencies.
