Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist Kingpin, Ammunition Courier in Kaduna

Troops of the Joint Task Force North-West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin and two members of his syndicate, as well as an alleged ammunition courier and a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in separate operations across Kaduna State.

The military said troops of Sector 1 carried out a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, a known terrorist hideout in Kubau Local Government Area, in the early hours of September 9.

The operation reportedly resulted in the arrest of the suspected kingpin and two other members of his syndicate. The suspects have been taken into military custody for further investigation.

In a separate operation on the same day, troops acting on intelligence intercepted a 50-year-old woman allegedly transporting ammunition in Igabi Local Government Area.

According to the military, the suspect was found with 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the woman had travelled from Zamfara to Lafia to collect the ammunition before delivering it to suspected terrorists in Birnin Gwari, the military said.

Later that day, troops working alongside a community vigilante group arrested another suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.

Four communication devices allegedly used by terrorists were recovered from the suspect during interrogation and a subsequent search, according to the military.

The Joint Task Force said the operations were part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent the movement of arms, ammunition and other logistics across the North-West.

It urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
