Chicken Republic, PieXpress Open First Outlets in Jos

Food Concepts Plc, operator of Nigeria’s popular quick-service restaurant brands Chicken Republic and PieXpress, has expanded into Plateau State with the opening of its first outlets in Jos.

The new restaurants, located on Old Airport Road, opposite the Old NITEL Building, commenced operations and were officially opened on August 29.

The opening was attended by representatives of Food Concepts Plc, Plateau State Government officials, invited guests and members of the Jos community.

The expansion marks a significant milestone for the company as it extends its presence into Plateau State and brings its brands closer to consumers in Jos.

Chicken Republic offers a range of affordable meals, including its signature Smokey Jollof, Chickwhizz, sides and other customer favourites, while PieXpress specialises in freshly baked pies and other quick meal options.

Food Concepts: Jos Expansion Is a Milestone

Speaking at the opening, Food Concepts Plc Managing Director, Kofi Abunu, represented by the company’s Marketing Director, Olumide Aniyikaiye, said the launch demonstrated the company’s commitment to expanding its reach and becoming part of the communities it serves.

“The opening of our first outlet in Jos marks an important milestone in our continued expansion across Nigeria,” he said.

Abunu said the company was excited to bring its meals to Plateau State, describing Jos as a vibrant and growing city.

“We look forward to building a strong and lasting relationship with the people of Jos and serving the community for many years to come,” he added.

    Plateau Government Welcomes Expansion

Speaking on behalf of the Plateau State Governor, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, welcomed the arrival of the two brands, saying their presence could contribute to business growth and tourism in the state.

“We welcome Chicken Republic and PieXpress to Jos. This establishment will add to the tourism potential and business growth of the state while giving our people another opportunity to experience quality and delicious meals,” Ashoms said.

He also encouraged the company to consider establishing additional outlets across Jos and other parts of the state.

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Prince Miaphen, said the expansion could also provide employment and skills-development opportunities for young people.

“I welcome Chicken Republic and PieXpress officially to Plateau State and urge our youths to patronise the brands,” he said.

According to him, beyond providing affordable meals, the new outlets could help young people gain relevant experience in the hospitality industry.

New Outlets Create Over 30 Jobs

Susan Foyeke Oke-Job, Regional Manager, Abuja and North, said the expansion was driven by Food Concepts’ commitment to providing quality meals, affordable prices and good customer service.

“Our expansion into Jos is a strategic step driven by our commitment to delivering high-quality meals, affordable prices, warm smiles and excellent service,” she said.

Oke-Job disclosed that the new outlets had created jobs for more than 30 young people and opened opportunities for local suppliers.

“We are not just opening restaurants; we are investing in the community,” she added.

The new outlets add to Jos’ growing food and lifestyle scene, providing residents, visitors, families and professionals with more options for convenient meals and casual dining.

Customers can now visit Chicken Republic and PieXpress on Old Airport Road, opposite the Old NITEL Building, Jos, to access the offerings of both brands.
