Anambra 2021: PDP NWC Meets Stakeholders, Sues for Unity

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) called for stakeholder unity in Anambra state ahead of the June 26 primaries for the state governor election.

The party’s national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, made the call during the NWC’s meeting with party aspirants, leaders and other Anambra stakeholders , held in Abuja on Monday.

Secondus said the meeting was called to allow the NWC to interact with stakeholders, as the off-season elections were always very stormy and difficult.

“We’re here primarily to make sure, first and foremost, that all of our leaders and aspirants are in unity. It’s very important for this trying time and you know the time we are in, ”he said.

Secondus said unity was key, especially now that the country was going through challenges, including insecurity, which should not be taken for granted.

He said the only way out was to make sure things were done right.

“That there be equity, equity and justice, which is in deficit in our country; and that’s what the PDP stands for.

“We advocate for fairness, equity and justice within the framework of the rule of law. It is a party that believes that all Nigerians are one. We must live together as brothers and sisters, ”he said.

The party chairman said Anambra was the key to the mission to rescue Nigeria and unify the country.

“Anambra is the economic key to our country and we must conduct our business to show the world that PDP is different and ready to save this country.

“That’s why we need to interact with the leadership of our party, and at the end of this meeting I think we will go home happy that on Saturday it is the freest congress ever.

“So, Anambra, we want to advise, we want to call our people, now is the time to drop us off.

“It’s time to look at yourself. We must not let Anambra and our country fail. We have to show this good example.

“You have led in many areas, you have to lead politically now. Our leaders must be statesmen. They must look beyond narrow individual interest.

“It’s time for us to look at Nigeria. If we are wrong, the consequences will be great. This will reflect on other parts of the country, ”Secondus said.

In addition, the national organizing secretary of the PDP, Col. Austin Akobundu, said the meeting was usual whenever the PDP had major contests.

Akobundu said the meeting was called to ensure everyone was trained in the primary to ensure a peaceful outcome.

“It is for this reason that the NWC requested to meet with all stakeholders in Anambra.

“This is only a representative sample of our quality stakeholders in Anambra who have been invited to attend this meeting.

“It’s just about rubbing our heads, having an interactive session and discussing ways we can use to have a smooth primary with everyone on board.” (NAN)
