National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended notorious drug lord Reginald Peter Chidiebere, who evaded capture for 13 years following his 2013 arrest over a cocaine shipment at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos.

NDLEA
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi disclosed in a March 1 statement that Chidiebere, arraigned before Justice Ayokunle Faji at Federal High Court Lagos (charge no. FHC/L/187c/2923), jumped bail after its 2013 grant and fled.
His name resurfaced in February 2024 as a key figure behind 49.70kg of heroin from South Africa, intercepted at MMIA’s import shed.
A raid on February 19, 2024, at his Golden Platinum Hotel & Suites (No. 16/18 Reginald Peter Chidiebere Street, Hope Estate, Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos) yielded 2.20kg more heroin from guest Igbuanugo Ebuka ThankGod.
NDLEA forfeited the hotel provisionally and froze his accounts, forcing Chidiebere’s surrender on February 13, 2026; he now faces original and new charges.
Imo Meth Lab Dismantled
In Imo State, NDLEA operatives on February 25 razed a secret methamphetamine lab in Isiozi Obiato, Umuaka, Njaba LGA, seizing 18.4kg of the drug plus precursor chemicals and production gear.
