PENCOM Introduces New Online Enrolment Application

The National Pensions Commission (PENCOM) announced on Tuesday that it had developed an online registration application to help retirees register, check and calculate their benefits.

Mr Anyim Nyerere, Commissioner, Technical Department of the Commission, made this known in a remark at the opening of a two-day training course for Pension Desk Officers in Kano.

Nyerere, represented by the head of the Commission’s membership and bond buyback department, Mr. Saleem Abdurrahman, said the app was developed for easy capture.

“The new app will provide guidance accordingly and help calculate exact retirement benefits for retirees.

“The app will also be hosted on the commission’s website and allow future retirees to log in to register their details,” he said.

He did, however, express the commission’s regret over his inability to conduct an annual physical retirement registration exercise due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The aim of the training, according to the commissioner, is to expose pension officers to the new online registration application procedures.

The agents, once trained, would guide retirees on how to complete and ensure the accuracy of the information to be submitted online.

The Nigeria News Agency (NAN) reports that around 80 pension officers have attended the two-day training which will end on Wednesday, June 16.
