Chris Okorie; Chairman, NCC Board, Chief Idris Olorunnimbe; Executive Vice-Chairman/CEO, NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida; and Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management, NCC, Ms. Rimini Makama, during an inspection tour of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Oshodi, Lagos State.

Led by Chairman Chief Idris Olorunnimbe and Executive Vice-Chairman/CEO Dr. Aminu Maida, the high-powered squad—featuring Board members Princess Oforitsenere Emiko, Engr. Ikechukwu Ugwuegede, Hon. Chris Okorie, and Executive Commissioner Stakeholder Management Ms. Rimini Makama—got the VIP rundown from Lagos Campus Head Mr. Akin Ogunlade.

The tour peeled back DBI’s wizardry as NCC’s premier training arm, forging skilled ICT warriors through cutting-edge programmes that hammer digital inclusion, local content, and knowledge-driven telecom dominance across Abuja, Kano, and Yola satellites.

Since its 2004 launch, DBI has minted graduates in telecom policy, engineering, and entrepreneurship, blending ITU Centre of Excellence clout with hands-on labs that bridge Nigeria’s talent chasm for 5G rollout and AfCFTA tech leaps.

Maida’s crew hailed the facilities and faculty firepower, recommitting to ramp up manpower for a sector screaming for innovators amid exploding data demands and fibre optic frenzy.
