Lagos Introduces Eko Token to Reward Patronage

The Lagos State Government says it will leverage Public Private Partnerships (PPPs)to reward residents for purchase items, through its Eko Token (Lagos Cash Token UCSR).

The Director-General, Office of Public Private Partnerships (OPPP), Mr Ope George made the disclosure on Tuesday in Ikeja during the 2021 Ministerial Briefing to mark Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second year in office.

George said that the state government would be leveraging on Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) to achieve its ‘Greater Lagos’ agenda.

He said that one of such moves was the Eko Token (Lagos Cash Token UCSR) meant to promote customer loyalty and patronage.

According to him, the Eko Token is the introduction of electronic reward commodity which offers guaranteed cash prizes on purchases within the state.

He noted that objectives of the OPPP included to develop public infrastructure or public assets; provide social amenities and other facilities for the state through PPPs.

George said the OPPP was to advise government on policies that would promote and sustain PPP; ensure that PPPs for the provision and development of public infrastructure in the state were in accordance with prevailing government policy and public interest.

He added that the office was to coordinate policies and programmes of state in respect to PPPs. (NAN)
