Police arrest 17-year-old boy for defrauding POS vendor of N900,000 in Jigawa

Jigawa State Police Command has arrested a 17-year-old boy, Abdulmuminu Tasi’u, for defrauding a POS vendor of the sum of N900,000 in the Maigatari Local Government Area of the state.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who confirmed the arrest in a statement at the weekend said the suspect admitted to committing the offence and will be charged to court after investigation.

“On 03/01/24 at about 1400hrs, one Aminu Mustafa ‘m’ age 38yrs of Unguwar Dodo quarters Maigatari LGA who is a Point of Sale (POS) vendor reported at Maigatari Police Station that, on the same date at about 1245hrs, an unknown person came to his POS shop to withdraw money which after giving him the POS Machine he fraudulently use it and transfer the sum of Nine Hundred thousand naira (N900,000.00k) into his account,”

“On receipt of the information, Police on patrol were alerted, fortunately, one Abdulmuminu Tasi’u ‘m’ age 17yrs of Adakawa quarters, Dala LGA Kano State was arrested and brought to the Station for investigation.

“On interrogation, the suspect admitted to the commission of the offence.”
