Beware of Scammers: Konga Warns Customers over Fake Website

Konga

Konga, Nigeria’s leading composite e-commerce giant, has warned its customers of a fake website built by cyber criminals to defraud unsuspecting customers of their hard earn money.

Gideon Ayogu, Group Head, Marketing & Comms, Konga disclosed this on Wednesday in an email to customers and channel partners, in Lagos.

According to the email, “Our attention has been drawn to the activities of unscrupulous and faceless individuals and groups attempting to defraud customers using our brand name, the latest being the use of a bogus and fake website (https://konga18.com/#/login).

“These scammers have leveraged the trust reposed in us by our customers to attempt various fraudulent activities on unsuspecting shoppers.

“Please be advised that Konga has no form of affiliation with this site – https://konga18.com/#/login – or any other site whatsoever that is not our official website. Our official website is www.konga.com

“Therefore, anyone transacting any business on this fake website is doing so at huge personal risk. We understand that their modus operandi involves insisting that ‘would-be’ customers prepay for their orders.

“We wish to reiterate that our customers have a multiplicity of payment options to choose from, including payment on delivery which is available in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Edo, Ogun, Delta, Sokoto, Nasarawa and Kaduna. You can also pay for anything you order on Konga.com or in any of our physical stores using other payment options, the most popular of which is KongaPay.

“Accordingly, we advise all our customers and members of public who wish to patronize us, that our official website remains www.konga.com and any news, update, or discount will be communicated via our website and social media pages.

“Please, stay alert, and be on your guard against fraudulent activities.

“Thank you for your continued support as we continue on our mission of creating a trusted and vibrant retail ecosystem that facilitates trade across Africa”.
