NPC to Partner with NBC on Sustainable Statistics

The National Population Commission (NPC) on Wednesday affirmed its determination to partner with the National Bureau of Statistics (NBC) in providing sustainable statistics for the country.

Alhaji Isa Kwarra, chief executive of the commission, made the promise as he welcomed the Statistician General, Mr. Simon Harry, to his office in Abuja.

Kwarra also expressed the commission’s willingness to work in synergy with the office in fulfilling its mandate.

“We will not stop working with you to provide data for the country.

“Any perceived gaps between us are in the past and must be closed for a harmonious and successful collaboration,” he said.

Previously, the statistician general emphasized that the National Population Commission was imperative in achieving the office’s mandate.

However, he emphasized the need to partner with the commission to provide accurate data.

According to him, the NBS is a repository of statistics in Nigeria and therefore should be associated with the population commission for the development of sustainable statistics.

Harry, who ensured the continuity of the office’s partnership with the commission, said the gap between them needed to be bridged.
