ISWAP Commander, Abou-Sufyan, killed in Lake Chad Region

Coordinated airstrikes by the Nigerian army have wiped out a notorious ISWAP commander, Abou Sufyan, and dozens of his fighters along the shores of Lake Chad in Borno state.

PRNigeria gathered that attacks by the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, a component of Operation Hadin Kai launched a series of attacks on Sunday at the ISWAP armory base in Kusuma and Sigir in the local government area of ​​Mars in the state. of Borno.

The operation was carried out after Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions revealed the presence of several combatants who converged in the area in their preparatory movement to launch attacks against troops in the axis.

An intelligence source told PRNigeria that: “The ATF overcame the Tucano plane attacking the target area in multiple waves that recorded direct hits on a weapons manufacturing facility, fuel depot, armory base and an infrastructure full of vehicles and motorcycles.

“Some terrorists fleeing the area were also intercepted and neutralized in follow-up attacks by Nigerian troops.

“Sustained week-long air offensives have impacted on the jihadist operational command and thwarted the group’s plans to carry out major attacks against military formations in the axis.

“We are aware that some of the surviving and injured escaping terrorists are hiding under the lush trees around Arinna Sorro and Arinna Ciki.”
