The four had performed late into the night at a three-day virtual birthday praise event hosted by Olanireti Akinbola, opting to sleep over due to distance from home – only to be discovered dead the next morning with bloodstains from noses, ears, and mouths.

Studio owner Akintayo Akinbola, the celebrant’s husband, reported finding the locked door unresponsive at 11am; neighbors forced entry to reveal the bodies after he delivered food the previous evening.

SP Abimbola Adebisi confirmed no violence signs, with corpses deposited at Mainland General Hospital mortuary, Yaba, for autopsy amid suspicions of food poisoning or generator fume inhalation.

Investigations continue to unravel the tragedy that shocked Nigeria’s gospel community.
