National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) Friday issued a public alert, ordering a nationwide recall of pharmaceutical products from Europharm Laboratories in Jos and its affiliate Eurolink Nigeria Ltd at Plot PL 7354, Anglo Jos New Industrial Area, following enforcement actions triggered by intelligence and surveillance.

Investigations revealed the firm produced, sold and distributed multiple regulated products without valid marketing authorisation, with lab tests uncovering serious quality defects including dangerously low Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API).
Linmoxyn Amoxicillin suspension showed only 13.9 per cent and 18.4 per cent API, while Linmoxyn Amoxicillin 500mg capsules had 48.3 per cent, far below standards, risking treatment failure, antimicrobial resistance and consumer safety.
NAFDAC listed affected items including Linocloxin Ampicillin/Cloxacillin 125mg powder suspension 100ml, Linromycine Erythromycin powder 100ml, Linocillin Ampicillin 50ml, Linmoxyn Amoxicillin 125mg 60ml, Eurogyl Metronidazole suspension/tablets, Naflin cough expectorant, Natacid suspension, Navit B Syrup, Fountain B12 tonic, Vitamin C syrup, Euramol Paracetamol, Euramox Mebendazole, Linotrim Cotrimoxazole and Linoquine Chloroquine syrup.
Zonal directors and state coordinators have been directed to intensify surveillance for total removal of these substandard products. NAFDAC urged distributors, retailers, healthcare professionals and the public to stay vigilant, halt circulation and report suspected falsified or substandard medicines to the nearest office.
