Lakinbofa Goodluck Honoured as Outstanding Public Relations Personality of the Decade

At the 2025 Edge Awards, Lakinbofa Goodluck, Public Relations Manager at MTN Nigeria, was recognised in the category of Outstanding Public Relations Personality of the Decade. The award affirms his standing as one of Nigeria’s most thoughtful and strategic practitioners in public relations and reputation management.

Lakin’, who holds a PhD in Media and Communication, is passionate about how public relations can serve as a bridge between organizations and the public, not merely to disseminate information but to foster dialogue, trust, and shared understanding. His ideals are rooted in media innovation, where technology and storytelling come together to reach new audiences, and media diplomacy, where communication plays a pivotal role in easing tensions, reframing issues, and strengthening relationships across stakeholders.

Within MTN Nigeria, Lakin’ has worked closely with colleagues to design and deliver campaigns that humanize the brand, anticipate reputational risks, and deepen public appreciation of the company’s role in Nigeria’s digital transformation. His approach has consistently demonstrated that public relations is most effective when it balances clarity, empathy, and credibility.

Beyond corporate campaigns, Lakin’ is a mentor and thought leader. As Adjunct Faculty at the School of Media and Communication, Pan Atlantic University, Lagos, he inspires the next generation of communication professionals to think critically about the evolving role of PR in society. He is widely regarded as deliberate, composed under pressure, and deeply committed to aligning communication with purpose.

This year, Lakin’ was also named as a Changemaker in the GLG PR Power List Top 50, a recognition of Nigeria’s most influential PR professionals. Together with his Edge Award, the honour underscores his place among the leading voices shaping the future of public relations in Nigeria and beyond.
