Ganduje Urges Prioritization of Technical Education in Universities

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State says there is a need to revise the curriculum of Nigerian universities to prioritize technical education.

Ganduje made the call on Saturday in Kano as he received the Bayero University of Kano (BUK) presidential visiting panel at Government House.

“The number of unemployed graduates continues to increase. Priority must be given and reoriented towards technical education.

“Education is not just about getting a job, but rather about raising the level of reasoning. “I urge the inclusion of technical education in our curriculum,” he said.

The governor also congratulated the former and current leaders of the university for their cordial and constant contact and their valuable relationship.

Ganduje also promised to step in and ensure that the cordial relationship that exists between the university and the host communities is stronger.

“Regarding the issue of land allocation to villagers around the university, I will certainly take an interest in order to find an amicable solution.

“Even with the aim of improving security around the university, something concrete and effective will be done,” Ganduje assured.

Earlier, Professor Femi Otubanjo, chairman of the committee, revealed that they were at the governor’s office on a courtesy visit.

“Excellency, we ask for your contribution to kindly intervene as some villagers surrounding the university are ready to encroach on the university’s land.

“We, please, urge that they be moved to other lands on the new ring road or any other area you deem appropriate.

“Also, in the area of issuance of the certificate of occupancy. Sir, this is where you come in very well, ”said Otubanjo.
