The federal government says it has suspended the salaries of 331 public servants for failing to update their Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) as reported.
Mr. Mahmuda Mamman, Permanent Secretary of the Career Management Office, made the announcement in a statement released by Mr. Abdulaganiyu Aminu, Director of Press and Public Relations, Office of the Head of the Public Service of the Federation (HOCSF) on Saturday in Abuja.
According to the statement, Mamman had signed the suspension circular on behalf of HOCSF, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan.
He indicated that the circular was addressed to all permanent secretaries, to the general accountant of the Federation and to the general auditor of the Federation.
“The salaries of 331 federal civil servants have been suspended on the IPPIS platform for their inability to update the online files of the HR module of the integrated personnel and payroll information system.
“And also, who did not participate in the physical verification exercise. “This emerged from a circular ref: HCSF / CSO / HRM / T / 41 published on June 9, 2021.” And signed on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan by the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office, Mahmuda Mamman, ”the statement added.
According to Mamman, despite all the various circulars issued asking MDA employees to update records online on the IPPIS verification portal, some grassroots MDA employees did not comply with the guidelines.
“As a result, they were also unable to participate in the physical verification exercise which was carried out between June 2018 and December 2020 because their files were not found on the verification portal,” he said. declared.
The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that the IPPIS Human Resources (HR) Module Records Update exercise has been launched to rid the service of ghost workers, reduce government spending and ensure credible personal records.
