The court appointed a provisional liquidator to seize control of all the label’s properties and bank accounts.

Speaking to newsmen, sources said the order followed Praiz’s petition seeking to wind up the company over unpaid debt since inception of his relationship with the label.

Praiz, an R&B musician formerly signed to X3M Music, rose to limelight as second runner-up at the maiden Project Fame West Africa.

He released hit singles like Rich and Famous, Sisi, and 69 featuring Burna Boy and Ikechukwu Killz.

Under the label, Praiz dropped his 2014 debut album Rich & Famous, earning Album of the Year nomination at 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and Best R&B/Pop Album plus Album of the Year nods at Headies 2015.

X3M Music Limited, founded by advertising executive Steve Babaeko, is parent to X3M Ideas—listed among Africa’s fastest-growing companies in 2025.

The label formerly signed Simi and nurtured her artistic talent.

As of now, neither X3M Music nor Babaeko has issued formal response to the court order.
