    Biden Visits Europe on First Overseas Trip as U.S .President

    US President Joe Biden began his first trip abroad on Wednesday where he will meet European partners.

    President and First Lady Jill Biden are due to meet with US soldiers in the English county of Suffolk to kick off their first overseas trip since taking office in January.

    On Thursday, Biden was due to meet with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson near Cornwall, where the G7 summit takes place from Friday to Sunday, on the sidelines of which Biden was to meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel, among other G7 leaders.

    At the end of their visit to Great Britain, the American president and the first lady would be received Sunday by Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle near London.

    On Monday, Biden had planned to attend the NATO summit in Brussels, where a high-level meeting with EU officials is scheduled for the next day.

    On Wednesday next week, Biden is expected to hold a much-anticipated summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Geneva before the US president returns to Washington.

    The White House said: “This trip will highlight America’s commitment to rally the world’s democracies, to come together to shape the rules of the road for the 21st century, defend our values ​​and meet the greatest challenges. of the world. ” (NAN)
