Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Ondo State Command have arrested two suspects dealing in Cannabis Sativa, commonly referred to as Indian Hemp.
The suspects were arrested with no fewer than 524 bags of Indian Hemp following a raid on a warehouse by NDLEA operatives at Egbeta, a boundary community between Ondo and Edo states.
Earlier, soldiers of the 32 Artillery Brigade had intercepted 132 bags of the illicit drug at various checkpoints in the state
The NDLEA officials were said to have stormed the warehouse following a tipoff about suspicious activities with the compound.
During the raid which last several hours, cannabis seeds were also seized.
Speaking on the development, the Acting State Commander, Cally Alumona disclosed that the owner of the warehouse is still at large,
While stressing the command is on his trail, Alumona maintained that
the operation will continue in the state until zero cultivation of the drug is achieved.
