Here’s Why We Are Excited About Ariya Repete ‘Omoluabi Special’’

Nigeria’s talent hunt competition, Ariya Repete continues. The pilot episode for this season’s “Omoluabi Special” was live on Soundcity TV and ONTV on Sunday, November 22, 2020.

The Show will continue to run every Sunday on both stations at 8pm. These exciting episodes will showcase contestants jostling for a share of the cash prize of 3 million naira and we can’t contain our excitement.

Having produced remarkable talents that have flourished in genres that are rooted in south-western culture, Ariya Repete “Omoluabi Special” will celebrate amazing indigenous talents from Southwestern Nigeria displaying their skills in Fuji, Juju and Yoruba Hip-hop music genres. This year, the competition goes into its eighth edition tagged – Omoluabi Special and here’s why we’re excited:

The show promises an experience guaranteed to delight consumers and a twist that allows fans to lend their voices in the eviction of contestants every week through an online voting process.

This year’s show also introduces its new host VJ Adams, while last year’s host, veteran artist, Sound Sultan joins ID Cabasa and Puffy T as judges for this year’s edition.

Ariya Repete “Omoluabi Special” will feature special appearances by well-celebrated music industry professionals and Goldberg ambassadors, Olamide Adedeji, simply known as Olamide and Odunlade Adekola.

Ariya Repete is not a “new” show. The competition is now in its 8th year. Previous editions have played host to prominent Yoruba music stars such as King Sunny Ade, K1 D Ultimate, Pasuma, Saheed Osupa, and others. The showpiece has also produced various top talents who have gone on to have considerable success in the music industry.

Ariya Repete 2020 will run for eight weeks leading up to the finale. The contestants will all be taken through a grooming and mentoring session anchored by veterans in the traditional Yoruba music genres of juju and fuji, as well as Yoruba hip-hop.

The grand finale will see the winners walk away with a grand prize of up to N3 million. Huge right?
