Nigerian-British businessman and social media influencer, Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, had undergone five penis enlargement procedures at a clinic in Bangkok before his death, Thai health authorities have revealed.
The Department of Health Service Support (DHSS), under Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, Sept. 8, following an inspection of the clinic where the 43-year-old underwent his final procedure.
Ubiribo died in March after undergoing a penile filler procedure while on holiday in Thailand with his wife.
The Thai authorities said the clinic informed investigators that Ubiribo had been a regular patient since 2024 and had received five injections to enlarge his penis during that period.
According to the statement, the final procedure was carried out on March 5, 2026, the day before his death.
It said emergency medical services received a request for an ambulance from a private hospital in the Sukhumvit area after Ubiribo lost consciousness.
The statement said Ubiribo’s wife informed medical personnel that he had undergone a filler injection earlier that day and subsequently went for a massage.
Due to suspicion of a blood clot, the hospital prepared to conduct a computed tomography angiography using contrast dye to examine his blood vessels.
However, while the procedure was being prepared, Ubiribo reportedly became unconscious and had no pulse, prompting medical personnel to begin cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
The statement said the resuscitation attempt was unsuccessful and his death was confirmed.
The initial information prompted authorities to investigate the clinic, located on Rama 1 Road in Pathum Wan District, Bangkok, on Sept. 7, 2026.
The clinic told investigators that Ubiribo had undergone his first four procedures between 2024 and 2025, while the fifth took place on March 5, 2026.
“The clinic’s management provided information stating that the patient had been a regular patient since 2024. The patient had received five injections to enlarge the male genitalia,” the statement said.
The final procedure reportedly involved the injection of 40cc of filler into his penis.
According to the clinic, the doctor had recommended that the injection be divided into two sessions, but Ubiribo preferred to undergo the procedure in a single session.
The clinic said it provided post-operative care instructions and followed up with him after the procedure, adding that he did not report any problems.
It also said Ubiribo had signed consent forms before each procedure.
The revelations followed a directive by Thailand’s Minister of Public Health, Pattana Promphat, for the DHSS and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to investigate the clinic following Ubiribo’s death.
The DHSS said its officials, working with the FDA, inspected the clinic on Sept. 7 to examine its operations and gather relevant evidence.
The Director-General of the DHSS, Phuwadej Surakhot, said investigations into the circumstances surrounding Ubiribo’s death would continue.
He said the professional-practice aspect of the case would subsequently be referred to Thailand’s Medical Council for consideration.
“We will gather all facts and evidence to proceed according to our authority and submit the case to the Medical Council for a ruling on professional practice standards, in order to ensure fairness to all parties,” the statement quoted Surakhot as saying.
