Diddy Could Face New Charges Over Tupac Murder as Prosecutor Reveals What Could Change Everything

Diddy & Tupac

Sean “Diddy” Combs could still face charges in connection with the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur if prosecutors uncover new evidence, Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson has said.

Wolfson said prosecutors had not completely ruled out charging Combs, but stressed that there was currently insufficient evidence to do so.

“At this point, we don’t believe we have sufficient evidence to charge anyone else with the death of Tupac Shakur,” Wolfson said.

“But, like any other case, if we come into more information, more evidence, we can always consider filing additional charges,” he added.

Wolfson’s comments came a day after a Las Vegas jury convicted Duane “Keefe D” Davis of murder over the drive-by shooting that killed Shakur in September 1996.

During Davis’ trial, jurors heard recorded police interviews in which Davis claimed that Combs had offered him one million dollars to kill Shakur and Death Row Records co-founder Marion “Suge” Knight.

Davis alleged that Combs wanted to “get rid of those dudes” and had discussed killing them with him on several occasions.

Combs has denied any involvement in Shakur’s murder.

A source close to Combs previously told TMZ that the music executive had nothing to do with the killing and did not pull the trigger or arrange the shooting.

Prosecutors argued that Davis organised a group of Crips gang members to retaliate after Shakur and others allegedly assaulted Davis’ nephew, Orlando Anderson, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas earlier that night.

Davis was convicted of murder with the use of a deadly weapon and with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang.

He faces a possible life sentence, with sentencing scheduled for Oct. 13.

Combs is currently serving a four-year prison sentence after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Wolfson’s comments indicate that prosecutors could revisit the case against other individuals if additional evidence emerges.
