Anambra State Governor, Prof. chukwuma Soludo, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election for a second term in office.
Adeleke, the Accord Party candidate, was declared winner of the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), after securing 511,067 votes.
His closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, polled 444,815 votes.
The results showed that Adeleke won in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji secured victory in 11.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo said Adeleke’s victory reflected the confidence Osun voters had placed in his leadership.
The Anambra governor also commended the people of Osun State for participating peacefully in the electoral process, describing their involvement as an important demonstration of the strength of democracy.
According to Soludo, Adeleke’s renewed mandate provides an opportunity for him to deepen his administration’s development efforts and deliver greater benefits to the people.
He urged political actors across the state, including the ruling party, opposition groups and civil society organisations, to put political differences aside and work together for the progress of Osun State.
Soludo further called on Adeleke to lead with wisdom, courage and magnanimity as he begins his second term, stressing the importance of peace and unity in achieving sustainable development.
He wished the Osun governor a successful second tenure and expressed confidence that the renewed mandate would bring lasting benefits to the people of the state.
