Nnewi Princess Reportedly Wanted Over Alleged N500m Land Fraud

Princess Esom Nwafor Orizu, a political aspirant for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, has reportedly been declared wanted over alleged involvement in a 500 million naira land fraud.

Sources familiar with the matter alleged that Orizu, popularly known as Adakaibeya, is under investigation for allegedly defrauding a businessman through the disputed sale of land in Nnewi, Anambra.

The land transaction at the centre of the controversy is reportedly valued at approximately 500 million naira.

It was alleged that the matter is currently being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Sources further claimed that the commission had taken steps to freeze her bank accounts pending the outcome of investigations and possible legal proceedings.

According to the reports, the suspect had recently declared her intention to contest for the Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency seat and had commenced political consultations before the allegations surfaced.

She is also alleged to have gone into hiding following the controversy.

Efforts by the complainant to locate and apprehend her have reportedly been unsuccessful.

As of the time of filing this report, the EFCC had yet to issue an official public statement confirming the development.

The accused had also not publicly responded to the allegations.
