The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) prosecuted Danjuma before Justice S.M. Shuaibu on a one-count charge under Section 1(1)(b) of the Advance Fee Fraud Act 2006.

In October 2024, Danjuma allegedly lured Bamaiyi with promises of investing in Taj Bank’s CASA programme, but EFCC traced the full sum to her personal account.

She pleaded guilty on arraignment February 16, 2026; prosecutor Sadiq Huseini urged conviction, citing her abuse of bank position and product credibility to deceive the victim.

Justice Shuaibu convicted her immediately, imposing the maximum sentence to deter financial sector fraud.

The case underscores EFCC’s crackdown on insider scams eroding public trust in Nigeria’s banking system.
