Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted various quantities of illicit substances, including Ketamine, Ecstasy and Tramadol pills, concealed in sachets of coffee mix and a book parcel destined for Zambia and the United Kingdom.

The seizures, effected at a courier firm in Lagos on December 24 and 29, 2025, coincided with the arrest of 22 Indian crew members from the merchant vessel MV Aruna Hulya, where 31.5 kilograms of cocaine were recovered from hatch 3 at the GDNL terminal, Apapa Port, Lagos, on Friday, January 2, 2026.
NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, disclosed that those detained in connection with the cocaine consignment, which originated from the Marshall Islands, include the vessel’s Master, Sharma Shashi Bhushan, alongside 21 crew members: Bharati Manoj Kumar; Bhalerao Nilesh Mukund; Nadar Anthony Macson David; Kolusu Srinivasa Rao; Sagar Gaurav; Francis Anto Beemas Nester; Jagdeep Singh; Jai Parkash; Prabhukhan Singh; Nevage Sandesh Suresh; Pandey Prashant; Nittu Anand; Akash Babu; Dasari Raju; Reddy Nandika Sanjeeba; Rana Nivesh; Melethil Insaf Rahman; Barla Chantanya Krishna; Ghosh Arijit; Mondal Raihan; and Gangwar Shiv Om.
In a related development, NDLEA operatives in Oyo State arrested a notorious 65-year-old female drug kingpin, Fatima Ilori, popularly known as Mama Kerosine, on Monday, December 29, 2025, in an intelligence-led operation at Onireke/Elekuro area of Ibadan.
The grandma, identified as a major distributor of illicit drugs in Ibadan, was nabbed alongside another suspect, Olusanya Abosede, 35, following the earlier seizure of 238.4 kilograms of skunk, a potent strain of cannabis, linked to her network.
