EPL: Arsenal Spending Millions on Wrong Players – Petit Blasts Gunners

Arsenal hero, Emmanuel Petit, has slammed the club’s transfer policy ahead of next season.

Petit said Arsenal are spending millions ‘on the wrong players,’ adding that he doesn’t recognize his former club again.

Arsenal finished the 2020/21 season in the eight position on the Premier League table.

Mikel Arteta’s side were also eliminated from the Europa League against champions Villarreal.

But Petit, who played 116 times for Arsenal between 1997 and 2000, has taken aim at the club’s owners, the Kroenke family, over their transfer policy.

“I don’t recognize the club anymore. I don’t see the Arsenal blood on the pitch,” Petit told The Sun.

“It is not the question of money because Arsenal have the power to put £70million on a player if they want to.

“It is a question of profile – who do you want for your teams in terms of character and quality?

“What are Arsenal doing in the transfer market? I don’t understand it. They spend money – a lot of money sometimes – but on the wrong player. ”
