    PDP Wins Postponed Ido LG Election

    The Oyo State Independent Election Commission (OYSIEC) has declared the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Sheriff Adeojo the winner in the postponed Ido local government region election.

    Mr. Isiaka Olagunju, President of State OYSIEC, made the statement Wednesday in Ibadan.

    The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that OYSIEC postponed the election due to the omission of the Zenith Labor Party (ZLP) logo from the ballots.

    Olagunju said that Adeojo emerged victorious in the election, having polled the most votes in the election.

    He said Adeojo polled 19,744 votes to defeat the ZLP and ADC candidates who polled 637 and 122, respectively.

    NAN reports that Adeojo’s victory placed the PDP in a clean sweep of all 33 local governments in the state.

    OYSIEC had previously declared the PDP candidates as laureates from 32 of the state’s 33 local government areas. (NOPE)
