Betway Donates GYM Equipment to Promote Fitness in Ikorodu Community

In an effort to improve the services rendered to residents of the Lagos community, leading online betting provider, Betway Nigeria, on Thursday, 29 April, 2021, donated gym equipment to ForeverLiving Fitness and Wellness Centre located in Ikorodu.

With Ikorodu being the second-largest hub for Betway Nigeria, the brand aims to connect with residents in the area on a personal level by helping them achieve their fitness goals.

Led by Udeaja Oluwasegun, ForeverLiving Fitness and Wellness Centre is a pop-up gym that encourages members of the community to adopt fitness routines and meal plans vital to maintaining a healthier lifestyle. The centre was established in 2020 and initially offered a free membership plan as part of its early campaign. Oluwasegun is a certified fitness coach trained in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, where he was based before returning to Nigeria in 2018 to set up the fitness centre.

The centre has grown by providing fitness and wellness programmes to people who otherwise would not have had access to them. Currently, the fitness centre records a remarkable attendance of up to 150 fitness enthusiasts who seek the services and guidance of well trained professional fitness coaches on a daily basis.

During the handing over of the equipment, Oluwasegun expressed his gratitude to Betway for helping him achieve his dream of setting up a world class fitness centre that will impact the lives of people living in the rural community of Igbogbo Baiyeku.

“It has always been my dream to touch the lives of those around me through the promotion of fitness and healthy living. I have been active for as long as I can remember, and I know the benefits of keeping fit, and that’s my true passion. Setting up a fitness centre here in Igbogbo Baiyeku, Ikorodu, is my own way of promoting healthy living among a much-overlooked community,” he said.

“I am thankful to the Betway team for supporting us with this much needed gym equipment. This gesture will go a long way in changing lives,” Oluwasegun added.

Some of the equipment donated by Betway included squat racks, treadmills, dumbbell sets, a dumbbell rack, kettlebells, battle ropes, sit-up and bench press benches, and stability balls.

Betway Nigeria’s Director, Chris Ubosi, revealed that the brand was hopeful that the support it lends will go a long way in impacting how people view fitness, and that they will continue to make it a daily routine in their lives.

“Betway is happy to support ForeverLiving Fitness and Wellness Centre in their bid to promote fitness and healthy living in Ikorodu. We hope that these materials will go a long way in contributing to the general well-being of residents in this community,” Ubosi said.

Guests present at the event included the Betway Nigeria team, representatives of the Ikorodu Local Government Area, representatives of the Lagos State Lottery Board and the residents of Ikorodu. With its support to the ForeverLiving Fitness and Wellness Centre, Betway Nigeria continues to go above and beyond for the communities within which the brand operates.
