Zenith Bank Taps Juliet Ehimuan, Ex-Google Chief as Non-Executive Director

Zenith Bank Plc’s Board of Directors has named Dr. Juliet Ehimuan as a Non-Executive Director, effective August 29, 2023.

The appointment, disclosed in an official statement to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, has received confirmation from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Dr. Juliet Ehimuan is an accomplished figure in the business world, recognized for her contributions to technology, innovation, and leadership.

She is the Founder and CEO of Beyond Limits and previously served as the Director of Google West Africa.

Her outstanding achievements have earned her recognition by Forbes as one of the top 20 influential women in Africa, acknowledgment from the London Business School as one of 30 individuals changing the world, and inclusion among the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD). Her accomplishments have also been featured in the BBC Africa Power Women series and CNN Innovate Africa.

With over 25 years of experience in the Technology, Oil & Gas, and New Media sectors across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Juliet stands as a prominent voice in matters of Innovation, Transformation, and Leadership.

During her remarkable 12-year tenure at Google, Dr. Ehimuan played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s footprint in Nigeria and the broader West Africa region.

Her initiatives focused on enhancing digital access, nurturing local content development, fostering skills acquisition, supporting entrepreneurial growth, promoting innovation, and forging strategic partnerships with prominent private sector and government entities.

Dr. Ehimuan has made substantial contributions to the tech ecosystem in Nigeria and across Africa.

She actively participated in committees responsible for crafting the national broadband plan and ICT incubation strategy in Nigeria, as well as national strategic advisory groups dedicated to economic growth.

These involvements underscore her commitment to shaping the future of technology in Africa, and she has garnered numerous accolades for her exceptional contributions to the digital landscape in the continent.

Furthermore, Dr. Ehimuan holds board positions in various industries, including Finance, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Oil & Gas, Education, and social enterprises.

Her educational achievements include a Doctoral degree in Business from Walden University in Minneapolis, an Executive MBA from the London Business School, a Postgraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, and a BSc in Computer Engineering (with first-class honors) from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. She has received prestigious scholarships, including the London Business School Global Women’s Scholarship, and was recognized as a Selwyn College Scholar and Malaysian Commonwealth Scholar at Cambridge University. Additionally, she is a Fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Society.

Dr. Juliet Ehimuan has been honored as the IT Personality of the Year in 2012 by the Nigeria Computer Society, named Digital Personality of the Year 2016 by Marketing World, and received the 2015 Titans of Technology award from Technology Africa.

She is also an accomplished author, executive coach, and a member of the Forbes Coaches’ Council.
