NASS Renovation Contract Undergoing Procurement Process – FCDA

The Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA ) reports that the proposed contract for the rehabilitation of the National Assembly complex is currently being procured in accordance with the Public Procurement Law of 2007.

FCDA’s head of public relations and information, Mr. Richard Nduul, made the disclosure in a statement Friday in Abuja.

Nduul explained that the NASS leadership approached the FCDA in 2019 for a total rehabilitation and upgrade of the complex to bring it into harmony with parliamentary buildings around the world.

He stated that the contract will be awarded as soon as it is concluded in accordance with the requirements of the Act and also taking into account all other relevant parameters.

He gave assurances that the rehabilitation of the complex would be executed meticulously to ensure the nation’s value for the funds that would be spent.

According to him, this has been the tradition with all the other missions that the FCDA has undertaken.

“FCDA’s attention has been drawn to the recent flooding of the hall of the Abuja National Assembly complex resulting from roof leaks.

”Our results indicate that the leaks are attributable to blockages of drainages leading to water infiltration through expansion joints in the roof slab.

“The complete waterproofing of the roof of the White House building is a major aspect of the proposed renovation of the complex,” he said. (NAN)
